Emphasizing Safety:
Your Cooperation is Vital
At the core of our mission lies the desire for every household to be a safe haven. To achieve this, we kindly seek your cooperation in adopting safe operating practices while using LPG. Here are some simple yet crucial guidelines to turn your kitchen into a “Safe Zone”:
Always keep the cylinder in a vertical position, maintaining a safe distance from any sources of heat, and ensuring proper ventilation.
Place the hot plate on a non-flammable platform, raised above the cylinder level.
Remember to switch off the pressure regulator when the stove is not in use, particularly at night. Never attempt to tamper with or repair the cylinder or its allied equipment by yourself.
Regularly inspect all components of the installation to ensure they are in pristine condition. If you notice anything amiss, promptly call for the distributor’s trained mechanic.
Opt for cotton clothing while working in the kitchen, as wearing dupatta, sari, or cloth to handle utensils could pose a fire hazard.
Utilizing a fire-retardant apron while cooking is a prudent safety measure.
Keep children away from the installation while cooking.
Only use ISI marked HOT PLATES.
Never leave the hotplate unattended while in use, as an overflowing of cooking material or a gust of wind could extinguish the burner flame, leading to gas leakage and a potential fire hazard.
Ensure the handles of fry pans and pressure cookers are positioned away from the flame.
Keep plastic items away from the gas stove to avoid accidents.
The rubber tube is a critical element in the LPG connection. Regularly inspect and immediately replace it if any visible cracks or damage are detected. Consider using the “SURAKSHA” LPG hose, recommended for enhanced safety and longevity. If using a rubber tube, ensure it is ISI approved.
Replace the rubber tube every two years and the “Suraksha” LPG hose every five years.
Always put the safety cap on the valve of unused cylinders, whether full or empty.

Taking Delivery Responsibility:
When receiving a refill delivery, take a moment to inspect the cylinder seal and weight. Once you ascertain that the cylinder has an intact seal, correct weight, and is in good condition, the deliveryman will open the seal in your presence to ensure the cylinder’s soundness and fitness for use. You can also request the connection to the regulator (DPR) and have the installation checked for proper functioning, even for additional cylinders.
Disconnecting/Connecting the Cylinder:
To disconnect the cylinder, carefully pull the cord and lift off the safety cap from the valve.
To connect the regulator to a filled cylinder, follow these steps:
a. Ensure the knob of the regulator is in the ‘off’ position (‘Off’ letters shown on top).
b. Grip the regulator and pull the black plastic bush up.
c. Place the regulator vertically on the valve and gently press it down with a slight swivel. Release the black plastic bush and press it down (you may hear a click sound).
d. The pressure regulator is now securely locked.
Lighting the Burner:
Turn the switch knob anti-clockwise to the ‘O’ position. This opens the valve on the LPG cylinder, allowing gas to pass through the regulator to the stove.
Hold a lighted matchstick near the burner head.
Turn the knob of the burner to the ON position.
After use, turn off the burner and the regulator by switching them to the ‘off’ position.
Regular Inspection of LPG Installation:
Insist on a mandatory inspection of your LPG installation by a trained mechanic once every two years. This service is available for a fee approved by Oil Marketing Companies and ensures the safe upkeep of your domestic LPG installation.
In Case of Leakage:
In the rare event of a leakage or if you detect the smell of gas:
Remain calm and composed.
Turn the pressure regulator (DPR) knob to the ‘OFF’ position.
Extinguish all fires in the kitchen and surrounding areas, including agarbattis and pooja lamps.
Avoid lighting matchsticks or lighters and refrain from switching ‘On’ or ‘Off’ any electrical switches, as they may generate sparks.
Open all doors and windows for proper ventilation.
Immediately contact the distributor or the Emergency Number for prompt assistance.
Remember, safety is a collective effort, and your cooperation is indispensable in ensuring a secure environment for everyone. Let’s prioritize safety above all else.
